Q: Why does it cost so much to hire a DJ?
A: Disc jockey fees can seem quite high when they are evaluated only by the number of hours booked. In actuality, your DJ will spend many more hours preparing for an event. These additional hours include obtaining additional music, preparing the play list, calculating beat mixing for smooth song transitions, meeting with clients, and setting up and tearing down equipment.

Q: Why should I hire you?
A: Digital DJ Productions is dedicated to making your event a success. We treat clients like we would like to be treated--with respect, integrity, and a genuine interest in your needs. The DJ is an accomplished public speaker, mature, and has a passion for all types of music. He has degrees in electronics and legal office administration. We believe that satisfied clients are our best form of advertising.

Q: Are you reliable?
A: We only perform services under a signed contract. This protects the client and the DJ. You can expect us to be punctual and ready to perform at the specified times. We are happy to provide references upon request.

Q: Are you insured?
A: Yes. Our liability insurance is specifically underwritten for disc jockeys. A copy of our insurance certificate is always available for client review. You shouldn't hire a DJ if he or she can't provide proof of insurance.

Q: How long have you been a DJ?
A: Digital DJ Productions, LLC started out as Digital DJ Associates in 2002. The part-time business was a partnership until one of the associates moved to Kansas in 2004. At that time, Professional Music Services of Boise was started as a sole-proprietor business. In 2006, the business was converted to a limited liability company.

Q: What is your refund policy if I have to cancel the booking?
A: We will refund all deposits if the cancellation is requested earlier than 30 days before the event date. There are no refunds for cancellations within 30 days of the event date. Your booking represents a firm commitment to us. We turn away other business for the same date, and we can't get that business back on short notice.

Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. To keep our fees low, we don't own or lease machines to swipe cards. If you wish to pay by credit card, you have two choices. You can provide us with your credit card information like you do when you place orders over your phone (and we'll take care of the data entry), or we will send you an invoice by e-mail that will have a link to PayPal's secure server where you can enter the information online. We are happy to assist you as required. Since banks charge fees for processing credit card transactions (which increase our costs), you can save money by paying with cash or check since we discount our fees for these payment methods.

Q: Do you accept music requests?
A: Yes. Unless the client specifically says no, we welcome music requests. Our library consists of over 6000 songs covering every genre of music! We also encourage clients and guests to e-mail us with music requests in advance so we can add their favorite songs to our library if necessary.

Q: What kind of music do you play?
A: The DJ will play any kind of music the client desires, however, he won't play openly offensive music at public events which include school functions. That's why we prefer online music requests in advance of the event. We belong to online music subscription services so we can add most requests to our library if necessary. There is no additional cost to the client for this service.

Q: What is your policy regarding music with explicit lyrics?
A: We won't knowingly play this kind of music at public events including school functions. If we get requests for these songs, we'll try to find a radio edit version. Some artists have a reputation for using explicit lyrics. If we haven't heard the requested song before, we won't play it when requested during an event. We always recommend that clients consider their audience when choosing music. We will make suggestions when desired.

Q: What is included in your dance floor lighting options?

Q: Do you meet with clients before an event?
A: Yes. After an event is booked, we will schedule a consultation meeting (phone consult for out-of-town clients). At this meeting, we will develop an outline (script) of your event so that all parties understand the order of activities, music details, contacts, etc.

Q: Do you offer discounts?
A: Yes. We offer a discount for DJ services paid by cash or check. We also offer periodic discounts throughout the year. These discounts will be listed on the home page of our Web site.
